Day 5 Results
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The No. 9 West Florida Swimming and Diving Team finished the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in 12
th place with a total score of 123.5 points.
Nina Imboden made her fourth All-American Honorable Mention status in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.43 and a 11
th place finish.
In the 400 free relay, the Argos finished the meet in 13
th place in 3:26.59. The group included
Sofia Kendzior,
Shannah Dillman, Imboden, and
Stefanie Markwardt. At the NCAA's, all four relay teams scored for the Argos this meet.
The Argos had a total of twenty-five All-American honorees including First Team and Honorable Mention. Markwardt captured a First Team All-American award as she finished fourth in the 100 fly.
In diving,
Daniela Reyes finished in the top-eight on both the 1- and 3-meter boards to finish out her collegiate career. Reyes came in third on the 1-meter and seventh on the 3-meter.
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez and
Olivia Nelson made a splash in their first NCAA meet. Mieses-Sanchez finished sixth on the 1-meter while Nelson came in sixth on the 3-meter. The UWF divers contributed 73 points to the overall team score.
"The group we have here is big on the senior side, especially on the relays. We'll continue to learn and get better as a group swimmers, divers, and coaches included. We are looking ahead to see how we can improve for next year. We look to continue our success and hopefully continue to make appearances at the NCAA's," said head coach Phil Kraus on his thoughts of the season.
This season the Argos won their fourth consecutive New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championship and had another record breaking year to conclude the 2022-23 season.Â
