PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team dropped the second game to North Georgia in a non-conference home game.

Tyler Dowdy started on the mound for the Argos. He allowed only four hits and totaled two strikeouts. Dowdy received a no decision after 6.1 innings pitched.

True Fontenot and
Jackson Grabsky led with three hits apiece.
Â
UWF (11-10 overall, 3-6 GSC) scored two runs on two hits in the first inning.
Mark Townsend led off for the Argos and was walked. He advanced to second after
Darrien McDowell singled up the middle.
Preston Moore finished the inning with a two RBI double to give the Argos an early lead.

The Argos out hit North Georgia (13-10 overall, 5-7 PBC) 6-1 in the second through sixth innings.

The Nighthawks tied the game 2-2 on three hits in the top of the seventh. Additionally, North Georgia added two more runs in the following inning to take the lead 4-2.

The game turned into a one-run difference in the bottom of the eighth. Jackson
Grabsky led off with a single. McDowell drove
Grabsky in with a double. Grabsky finished with three hits and a walk in four at bats. McDowell went 2-4 and accumulated two walks.

North Georgia added three runs in the top of the ninth to take the win 7-3.

The Argos stay at Jim Spooner Field to kick back up with conference play. They will take on Mississippi College in a three-game series beginning on Saturday, March 18 with a doubleheader at 2:00 p.m. and a 5:00 p.m. .
Friday's game has been changed to Sunday at 1:00 p.m. due to unforeseen weather.
