Day 2 Results
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The No. 9 West Florida Swimming and Diving Team once again made a statement at the NCAA Division II Championships.
UWF had all five divers score points and place in the top-sixteen. This breaks a record with the most in program history.
Veteran
Daniela Reyes placed third on the 1-meter boards with a score of 468.85. This will be Reyes's fourth consecutive year earning CSCAA All-American First Team honors.
Freshman
Adriana Mieses-Sanchez came in sixth with 421.35 points. She is making her first NCAA appearance and first time receiving CSCAA All-American First Team honors.
Jade Fontenelle finished eleventh with 404.00 points followed by
Michelle Mejia in thirteenth as she collected 395.10 points.
Olivia Nelson finished sixteenth with 376.80 points for the Argos.
"What can I say, our divers put it all out there and showed that they have the skills and the confidence to make a difference for the Argos. It was a fun competition and I'm looking forward to 3-meter on Friday," said head diving coach
Barbara Parker.
In the swimming realm, West Florida touched sixteenth in the 200 medley relay in 1:43.75. The swimmers were
Nina Imboden,
Stefanie Markwardt,
Katelyn Balent, and
Sofia Kendzior.
The Argonauts sit in ninth place with 50 points after the second day of competition. Â
Competition on Thursday will feature the 100 fly, 400 IM, 200 free, and 400 medley relay. The prelims will begin at 10 a.m. (EST) followed by finals at 6 p.m. (EST).
