PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team won Saturday's morning game at home in an 8-6 victory over AUM. The team rallied 14 hits to uplift the team to a nine-game winning streak.

UWF has improved to 25-14 on the season with a 16-8 conference record and finishes the weekend at No. 1 in the GSC standings.

Five Argonauts had two hits each to lead the team.
True Fontenot went 2-for-3 and led with three RBI.

The Warhawks (17-25, 10-14 GSC) took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. This was their first lead of the weekend. The game began with an error that resulted in two of the three runs to be unearned.

UWF saw their first scoring opportunity to come in the third inning. Bases were loaded on one out.
Preston Moore hit a fouled out, sacrifice fly that allowed Fontenot to score on the throw. UWF was unable to do any further damage as the Warhawks found a third out and left three Argos on base.

The Argos scored six runs on seven hits and took a 7-3 lead after the fifth inning.
Trent Jeffcoat led off with a single and
Darrien McDowell followed with a hit himself.
Preston Moore,
Mike Scordo and
Jadon Fryman hit an RBI single each in back-to-back plays that gave UWF a 4-3 lead. A walk was thrown and it allowed the Argos to load the bags. Two more singles were hit that extended the lead, 7-3.

Each team scored a run in the seventh.
True Fontenot hit an RBI bunt to keep UWF at a four-run advantage.

AUM started to make a comeback but UWF was able to withstand and finish with an 8-6 win.

Major Posey got the win in 5.0 innings pitched. He improves to 6-2 on the season. He allowed just three of AUM's 10 total hits.
