Quintin Payton is a proud UWF alum and former employee in the athletic department. He continues to cheer the Argos on and we cannot thank him enough for the continued support over these years. Thank you, Quintin!
Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
When I was an employee for the Athletics Department, I was able to get more of an understanding of how donating could positively affect the student-athlete experience. With that new understanding I did not hesitate to give back to help elevate the experience of our student-athletes. As a staff member I felt it was even more important to personally donate to lead by example when we are asking our fans to do the same.
Why do you continue to give annually?
I continue to give annually because I know my donation continues to provide the much needed support for the student-athletes and Athletics Department. I believe in what UWF stands for and as a proud alum, I will support the university any way I can.
What would you say is the best thing about being a donor to UWF athletics?
Honestly the best thing about being a donor of UWF Athletics is having the ability to help with the experience of the student-athletes. I am so proud of how far the Athletics Department has come and I know the best is yet to come.
What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
The reason why I am so passionate for my Argonauts is because of my own positive experience with the Athletics Department and the University as a whole. Their "WHY" is truly one-of-a-kind and it falls back on providing the best experience for the students-athletes. The department is very intentional on not just developing athletes but building champions in life.
What is a proud moment being an Argo fan or an experience you really enjoyed?
I have so many countless memories to just pick one but I actually have three and they all are connected to Football! My first moment was the Football Home Opener of the Inaugural Season back in 2016. Just the excitement for the very first game in program history was just such a blessing to be a part of. My second moment was our very first victory versus a ranked opponent (#16 Florida Tech) that same season. That was the launch of the Coastal Classic and that was such a fun night to remember. My final moment was when football went full circle for me and the Argos won a National Championship in 2019. At that time I actually moved to Texas and was able to witness the excitement and all the thrills in person. I know all the hard work, dedication and support every single person had for the program to reach that very moment - Unforgettable! I will always have love for my Argos and know even bigger and better things are coming!
