Five Argos Found the Back of the Net

Box Score

GULF BREEZE, Fla -
The Argos traveled down to Gulf Breeze at Shoreline Park to host the Shorter Hawks this afternoon. The Argos grabbed their first GSC win with a final score of 7-3 on the day. Five Argos found the back of the net.

How It Happened

Scoring started in the 7th minute when Shorter's Charles Garcia found the back of the net from  a quick cross from Mattia Maiello. The scoring would remain at 1-0 until the 36th minute when Fynn Geigle found Kendrick Hernandez for a finish for the Argos. And you know what they say, goals come in bunches. In the next nine minutes, the Argos scored three more goals on the half. Josiah Fontenot came off the bench firing. The Florida native scored two goals back to back just three minutes separate from one another. Fynn Geigle assisted Fontenot's first goal and Jack Patchingwas there for Fontenot's second. Jaime Guillén came off the bench and also tallied a goal for the Argos just before the half in the 45th minute. Patching joined him for the assist. The Argos headed into halftime bouncing back from the rough start.

During the next 45, the Argos opened scoring with a goal from fifth year Bernardo Torres. A drive up the side of the field from Josiah Fontenot to Marcus Pereira who selflessly passed it away to Torres for him to have the easy finish.

Mattia Maiello came down the center of the field for the Hawks where he was able to put away a goal for his team in the 62nd minute.

Kendrick Hernandez found the back of the net once more for the afternoon from an assist from Jack Patching to put the Argos ahead in the 75th minute.

Mattia Maiello was strong and continued to trek on for his team. In the 81st minute, Maiello sent a right-footed upper-90 shot from outside the 18-yard box to add another goal to his name.

Late in the match, as Jack Patching took the ball down the center of the field, Patching was tripped up inside the penalty box, and after having three assists on the day, Patching found the back of the net himself from the PK shot.
