Claire Sutherland-Case matched her career-high and posted a second-consecutive double-double as the UWF women's basketball team scored the final 10 points for a 66-57 road victory over Alabama Huntsville at Spragins Hall on Saturday.
UWF (10-5, 7-4 Gulf South) completed a weekend sweep of UAH and West Alabama to give head coach
Stephanie Lawrence Yelton her 200th victory in 12 seasons in Pensacola. She is now 200-126 at UWF as she becomes the 11th coach in GSC women's basketball history to win 200 games.
The Argonauts shot 43 percent from the floor and got 36 points, 24 rebounds and four blocked shots from its bench.
Sutherland-Case again led the way, matching her career-high from Thursday with a game-high 18 points to go along with 11 boards and three blocks.
Moriah Taylor added 14 points and equaled Sutherland-Case with three 3-pointers, including a huge step-back bomb to put UWF ahead by six with 29 seconds left.
Delaney Trushel scored 12 points and grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in a season-best 28 minutes.
Jaden Langford poured in 10 of her 11 points in the second half including two clutch baskets in the paint in the final two minutes.
After falling behind 12-1 to start the game, UWF battled back and outscored UAH 28-10 to secure a 29-22 lead at the half. The margin stayed around 10 points until the Chargers mounted a comeback, using a 13-3 run in the fourth quarter for a 52-51 lead. The teams traded scores before the Argos ended the last two minutes on a 10-0 run to claim the fifth-consecutive win over UAH, matching the longest winning stretch by the Blue and Green in the 63-game series. It is also UWF's sixth-straight triumph in Spragins Hall.
UAH (6-9, 5-7) got 15 points off the bench from Jesse Jennings who made two 3-pointers. The Chargers were held to 18.9 percent shooting on 3-of-16 from outside.
UWF will return home to the UWF Field House next weekend for a pair of games against Lee (10-6, 8-4) on Thursday and Shorter on Saturday. The Lee contest will start at 5:30 p.m.
