JACKSON, Tenn. –
Joe Bartlinski has led the University of West Florida women's soccer team to yet another double-digit win season after defeating Union on Sunday, 3-0.
Bartlinski now has 22 straight seasons with double-digit marks in the win column, excluding the 2004 shortened season due to Hurricane Ivan and the 2020 canceled season due to COVID.
UWF is 10-1-2 overall and 8-0-1 in the Gulf South Conference.
The Argos had three different goal scorers in Sunday's win.
Emilie Dueck Doerkesen,
Megan Gettys and
Mya Swinton all found the back of the net.
Swinton led the attack for UWF with 4 points. The redshirt senior added two assists to her one goal. Swinton has 20 points this season (8 goals, 4 assists).
Ahnalie Layman and
Emma Beltz also joined in the offense with assists.
Maciah Lipsey made three saves in the win and recorded her seventh shutout of the season.
UWF's next match will be one of the key games of the season as the Argos host Montevallo on Wednesday at 5 p.m. UWF sits in first place in the GSC standings ahead of Montevallo (8-2 GSC). The Argos have three regular season games remaining.
