CLINTON. Miss –
Zach Fenton continues to break his own records at the right times, setting a new school record in the men's 8K with a 24:16.2 and helping to push UWF men's cross country to a fourth place finish out of 11 teams at the GSC Championships Saturday morning.
Fenton now owns nine of the top 10 fastest times in the history of UWF men's cross country, breaking his previous program record of 24:23 set at the UAH Invitational in 2022. Fenton finished 7
th overall, earning First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors for 2024.
The Argos placed ahead of multiple teams ranked in the top 10 of the USTFCCCA South Region rankings, including No. 7 AUM, No. 9 Christian Brothers, and No. 10 Montevallo. They also bested last year's finish at the 2023 GSC Championships, where they finished sixth.

Grant Chastain continues his impressive first season with UWF by running a 25:37.8 time to place 30
th out of 99 runners and second for the Argos.
Carson King placed 46
th and set a new PR of 26:10.8.
Nathan Deboutez placed 41
st with a time of 26:06.2, the third fastest time among UWF runners.
Xander McLaughlin finished 55
th at 26:39.6.
Parker Nunley finished 62
nd overall at 26:54.3.
Cademon Galloway closed out the Argos' day in Clinton with a 29:58.5 time to finish 97
th.
