NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Despite dominating the majority of the match, the University of West Florida women's soccer team concluded Friday evening's game in a 1-1 draw with Trevecca Nazarene.
Emilie Dueck Doerkesen scored her third goal of the season in the 80th minute to give the Argos the 1-0 lead. Doerkesen got on the end of a cross played in from the left corner and redirected it off the crossbar, but was able to quickly head in the rebound, before being taken down.
The Argos looked to have the win in hand, but the Trojans answered in the 90th minute, with nearly 30 seconds left in regulation to knot the game at 1-1 and earn a point in Gulf South Conference play. Skye Baun scored the header goal off a cross from Isabel Felger.
UWF outshot Trevecca 28-5 while also producing eight corner kick opportunities.
Mya Swinton led the Argos with six shots and four on target.
UWF (5-1-2, 3-0-1 GSC) will play again on Sunday at noon central time against Lee.
