CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Two first half goals led the University of West Florida women's soccer team to its sixth win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Lee University on Sunday afternoon.
Emma Beltz scored in the 28th minute to give UWF the lead. It was Beltz's third goal of the season. 10 minutes later the Argos earned a penalty kick which was capitalized on by
Megan Gettys to give UWF a 2-0 lead.
Maciah Lipsey and the Argos' defense held Lee to just four shots. Lipsey made two saves to keep the clean sheet.
UWF (6-1-2, 4-0-1 GSC) stay perfect in Gulf South Conference play and will host Valdosta State on Friday at 5 p.m. at the UWF Soccer Complex.
