LIVINGSTON, Ala - The Argos traveled to Livingston, Alabama, to face the West Alabama Tigers in one of their final games of the 2024 regular season. The Argos came out on top as senior defender
Keegan Lynch found the back of the net early in the game, and Jaime Guillen with a late goal to give the Argos the win. Here's how it happened:Â
The First 45
Scoring opened early for the Argos as UWF was awarded a corner kick in the 13th minute of the match. After a short corner, the ball was sent into the box. With a few shots blocked, the ball found the foot of freshman
Oskar Sewtz, who saw
Keegan Lynch making a run outside the box. Sewtz found Lynch, who struck the ball low and hard to the bottom left corner to put the Argos up 1-0. This logged Lynch's second goal and Sewtz's first assist. The Argos logged nine shots and two corners to push the attack game early.Â
The Second 45
The Argos headed into the second half with a lead, hoping to hold. The Tigers answered in the 66th minute as Harrison Page found the back of the net to even the score at one. A team that has been great at finding the back of the net, UWF kept pushing. Senior forward who has been a defender's nightmare all season,
Keegan Ancelin, dribbled the ball into the Tiger's box, looking for an opportunity. A Tiger defender tripped up Ancelin, causing a penalty kick in the 80th minute of the match. Senior Jaime Guillen stepped up the spot, and when the whistle blew, the Spaniard struck the ball low and right, the Tiger's goalkeeper saved it, and Guillen followed his shot and converted the PK on the second try.Â
Further Details
UWF outshot the Tigers 17-12, and
Nicolas Meckien made four saves. Seven Argos played a full 90 minutes on the evening.Â
