On Taylor Swift Night, the first such event for UWF volleyball, the Argonauts (19-5, 14-0 GSC) solidified their spot atop the Gulf South Conference with their second win of the season over the No. 2 Chargers (21-4, 12-3 GSC) at UWF Field House on Friday night, winning via sweep (25-18, 26-24, 25-17) to ensure that the Chargers would have only a blank space.

The Argos thoroughly dominated to move the distance between them in first place and UAH in second to three games after originally taking the top spot from the Chargers in a 3-1 win in Huntsville on October 5. The victory also extends the UWF win streak to 14 matches dating back to September 24.Â

UWF took every category in the box score, including kills 45-30, errors 17-22, aces 4-3, blocks 7-5, assists 43-29 and digs 54-51. It outhit the Chargers .235 to .070, holding them under .100 in two sets and in the negative for one. 10 players scored for the Argos to just seven for the visitors. Seven UWF hitters produced above a .150 clip while only two for UAH reached that mark.

The offense for the Blue and Green was multifaceted and mostly evenly distributed. For the fifth time in the last seven contests,
Emily Breazeale led the Argonaut scorers with 11 kills and 10 digs, while scoring double-digit kills for the sixth time in seven matches and registering a double-double for the third straight match. On a night in which
Jenna Zydlo was featured in a pregame hype video thanks to her accomplishments as well as her Swift fandom, the senior middle had nine kills on .368 hitting with three total blocks.Â

Magdalena Vongkasemsiri and
Caiden Largent each scored six kills with four and two total blocks, respectively.
Damyah Joyner and
Kumara Flanagain added four kills apiece.
Meg Brackhan tallied 18 digs and three assists.
Taylor Teaman added 14 scoops.
Gabi Moulton facilitated for the whole operation per usual with 38 assists, six digs and three kills.
