PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF men's basketball team dropped its home opener to Columbus State University on Tuesday evening, 83-66.

The Argos fall to 1-4 on the season.

Xavier Glenn led UWF with 14 points while Shay Davis came off the bench to score 13 as the only Argos with double digits.

Columbus State was led by Jarrett Adderton who scored a game-high 29 points.

In the first half, the lead changed hands 10 times as the Argos took a 30-29 lead with 3:50 remaining until the break. The Cougars answered with a 3-pointer to take the lead and never gave it back.
UWF had a slow offensive start in the second half, scoring four points in the first seven minutes of action. Columbus State took advantage of the slow start for the Argos and used its hot shooting from deep to build a 20-point lead. The team connected on 11 triples.

Next up for West Florida is another home game on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. in the UWF Field House. The Argos will host Georgia Southwestern. The two teams played just a couple weeks ago with GSW pulling out a 72-71 victory.
