HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of West Florida women's soccer team became Gulf South Conference regular season champions and earned the No.1 seed for the postseason after defeating Alabama Huntsville on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.
UWF didn't lose a game in conference play during the season, going 10-0-2 in GSC action.
In Sunday's regular season finale, the Argos got a goal in each half to take down Alabama Huntsville.
Julieta Limardo found the back of the net in the 15th minute for her fifth goal of the season.
Mya Swinton and
Gabriel Clarke were both credited with an assist.
In the second half
Ahnalie Layman scored in the 53rd minute to extend UWF's lead.
Maciah Lipsey and the Argo's defense recorded their eighth shutout of the season.
The Argos will host No. 8 Spring Hill on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. UWF beat Spring Hill 3-2 earlier this season.
