PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team gained their first series sweep over USC Aiken after a 6-4 win, Saturday afternoon.

The Argos extend their record to 5-1.

The Pacers (0-6) got on the board first with an RBI double and held onto the lead through the opening four frames.

The Argos tied the game at one-all off a ground out RBI from
Mark Townsend.
Zack Stokes was sent home after leading off the inning with an outfield single.

The Pacers responded with three runs in the top of the fifth to re-take the lead 4-1.

Part way through the fifth,
Parker Wakeman entered to pitch and changed the momentum of the game for UWF. He threw a pair of strikeouts to end the inning and get the Argos out of a potential drought.
UWF made a comeback and scored five runs in the final three innings.

The Argos scored a pair of unearned runs to bring the score to a one-run difference. USC Aiken threw a wild pitch, followed with a pass ball that advanced runner's home.

The Argos gained control and took the lead in the sixth frame.
Dom Presto and
Jackson Grabsky got an RBI single each to give UWF a 5-4 edge. This was Presto's first hit of the day and second RBI of the season. Grabsky went 3-for-5 to lead the team.

Cade Easterbrook sealed the deal with an RBI double in the seventh to extend the lead, 6-4.
UWF and USC Aiken tallied 12 hits apiece. UWF totaled 13 strikeouts compares to the Pacers four.

Wakeman threw five strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched. This was Wakeman's first UWF career win.

Jacob Heath pitched the final inning and got the save. This is Heath's second save of the season.

The Argos take on the next four opponents on the road. Up next for the team is a three-game series at Rollins in Winter Park, Florida. The series will begin on Friday, Feb. 16 at 5 PM ET/ 4 PM CT.
