PENSACOLA, Fla. – Veronika Roberts scored a season-high 14 points and
Claire Sutherland-Case collected a double-double as the UWF women's basketball team cruised past Christian Brothers, 69-43, at the UWF Field House on Saturday.
Roberts was dominating in the paint for the second time against the Lady Bucs as she went 7-for-10. She had 12 points in a win earlier this season.
Sutherland-Case collected her fifth double-double of the year with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
UWF (13-9, 10-8 Gulf South) snapped a 3-game losing streak by shooting 46 percent and holding a 49-31 rebounding advantage.
CBU (2-20, 2-16) was led by Destiny Kiner's 14 points while playing without leading scorer Jeremia Montgomery.
UWF held a 27-13 lead at the half, outscoring the Lady Bucs 15-2 in the last eight minutes of the second quarter.
The Argos scored 44 of their 62 live game points in the paint.
UWF will play its third game in five days on Monday when it plays host to Auburn Montgomery (15-7, 13-5). The game will start at 5:30 p.m.
