PENSACOLA, Fla. --- #11 UWF fell to the Mocs, 6-2, in a non-conference matchup at home.

The Mocs took the lead in the fifth inning and managed to hold on for the duration of the game and take the season opener.

UWF got on the board first in the second inning off a
Jackson Grabsky RBI single that sent
Preston Moore home. Grabsky led the team with two hits.

In the top of the fourth, the Mocs took a one-run lead but the Argos tied it at two-all in the bottom half.
Mike Scordo shot a single through the right side that sent the second run in.

Florida Southern scored three more runs that gave UWF a four-run deficit. One run was unearned and the final run was scored off a wild pitch.

UWF was outhit 11-3. Grabsky went 2-for-4 and Scordo tallied the final hit.

The pitching squad recorded 15 strikeouts.
Dalton Neuschwander and
Dilan Lawson led with seven strikeouts apiece. Lawson threw for 2.2 innings and allowed just two hits in 10 batters faced.

The Argos will finish the series, tomorrow, Feb. 3 with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
