Scouting Florida Southern
Â
The Mocs are 3-1 to open up the season, tied for the best start they've had under fourth-year head coach Mo Triner. FSC was picked to finish eighth in the Sunshine State Conference coaches' poll during the preseason, yet are currently tied for fourth in the conference standings early on in 2024.Â
Â

Â
Leading the way on offense is fifth year senior catcher Destiny Colgate, who as racked up six hits, two runs and four RBI's in four games. She also leads her squad with a .909 slugging percentage. Freshman outfielder Kate Mikle has also been a catalyst for Florida Southern early, adding five hits and three runs with a team leading .556 batting average. Other notable batters include Kenleigh Smith and Kiki Morris, who have multiple hits and runs thus far in 2024.Â
Â
In the circle, Florida Southern is led by graduate student Mel Rogers who has a .50 ERA in two starts so far this season. Her five strikeouts lead the Mocs, with Ella Torres and Ashley Blessin rounding out the other pitchers to start a contest for Florida Southern this season.Â
