DESTIN, Fla. – The UWF women's golf team saved the best for last at the Emerald Coast Collegiate, shooting a 6-over-par final round to finish in fifth place in the event at Baytowne Golf Club on Tuesday.
UWF's 309-300-290=899 gave the squad its third top-five finish of the season.
Sophomore
Millie Thompson capped off a solid week with a tenth place showing, shooting a 71-74-75=220. Junior
Kenzie Heba also turned in a solid outing, tying for 16th place at 76-75-72=223.
Junior
Alia Scotka had one of six rounds in the 60s on Tuesday, firing a 2-under-par 69 to move up 27 spots into 33rd place at 229.
Freshman
Samantha Schultz and sophomore
Isabella Yu Lee both had tourney-best 76s in the final round. Schultz tied for 44th at 78-79-76=233 and Yu Lee was tied for 50th at 82-76-76=234.
Senior
Kate Kenthack tied for 55th at 236 and classmate
Alexandra Seppanen tied for 66th at 238, finishing the week with a 74. Freshman
Holland Davidson completed the tournament with an 80 to go with her opening round 75.
UWF will return to action at the Lady Moc Classic 2.0, April 1-2 in Lakeland, Florida.
