UWF GSC HISTORY:
* The Argonauts have won a league-record 11 conference championships, including the 2022 event by one shot over Lee. The Argonauts overcame a 9-shot deficit in the final round, clinching the title on a 12-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole by
Alegria Lopez.
* The 9-shot deficit is the largest overcome to win in GSC tournament history. UWF's previous title came in similar fashion as the 2016 team climbed out of an 8-shot hole on the last day. The 2014 title for the Argos came in the form of a 6-stroke comeback over Lee.
* UWF has won titles in 2004, 2006-10, 2012-16, finished as the runner-up three times and third three times. The Argos finished fourth a year ago.
*
Alia Scotka is the defending champion after establishing a championship record with a 69-72-71=212, 4-under-par. She broke the previous record held by former UWF All-America Paloma Vaccaro of 214 in 2018. Scotka is looking to become just the fourth 2-time winner in league history and the second to go back-to-back.
* Current UWF graduate assistant coach
Solange Gomez won the title two years ago with a 2-stroke victory over teammate
Alegria Lopez.
* A UWF player has won the individual title 10 times in the previous 18 championships, with Natalia Espinosa (2008 & 2010) and Camila Sevillano (2012 & 2013) winning twice.
NCAA REGIONAL RANKING:
