Argos Fall to #13 Lee

PENSACOLA, Fla. --- The University of West Florida baseball team dropped the home series opener over #13 Lee Friday night. The Argos (26-19, 16-12 GSC) were held to four hits in a 7-3 loss.
 
All three runs scored by UWF occurred in the first inning. Jadon Fryman brought in the first run with an RBI single. Cade Easterbrook capped the inning with a two RBI double to bring the score to 3-0.
 
From the third through eighth inning, the Flames put up a 7-0 run. Lee (35-13, 22-6 GSC) brought the game to a one-run difference in the third inning after a two-run homer. The Argos kept the Flames to one hit in the following two innings.
 
The Argos lead dropped in the sixth frame after an error allowed two runs to come in. The Flames then found their offensive groove and put up three runs on six hits between the seventh and eighth frame.
 
The Argos were held to no hits through seven straight innings. Fryman grabbed the team's fourth hit in the ninth frame. He finished with half of the Argos hits.
 
Fryman is on a 16-game hitting streak that tracks back to March 23.
 
Jacob Heath tallied seven strikeouts on the mound in 5.2 innings pitched. Tyler Dowdy saw time in the designated hitting spot as well as on the mound. He threw the final 1.1 innings and saw no runs scored during his presence.
 
Lee's starting pitcher Jack Nedrow grabbed his 10th win on the mound and remains undefeated.
 
The Argos will complete the series and regular season with a double header on Saturday, April 27 at 1:00 p.m. 10 seniors will be celebrated prior to the start of the game for Senior Day.
