Scouting Spring Hill:
The Badgers are 17-13 on the season and a perfect 16-0 in SIAC conference play. They enter the midweek twin bill with the Argos on a six-game win streak of their own after sweeping Miles College and LeMoyne-Owen University the past two weekends.
Spring Hill's hitting categories are led by Meadow Villar and Rycca Hinton. Villar leads the badgers with a .393 batting average, producing a team leading 1.281 OPS, 33 hits, and 11 doubles and six home runs in the process. Hinton leads the team with 31 runs, two triples and 28 RBI. She has also knocked an additional five home runs out of the team's 15 total this year.
Spring Hill has rotated seven different pitchers at points this season, with three names making up the majority of the starts. Emily Phillips (5-3) leads the way with a 2.65 ERA in 10 appearances and 65 innings pitched. She thrown a team second-best 34 strikeouts in that time.
Leighanna Turk (5-7) and Emma Curry (6-2) are the other two main options for SHC, both of whom pitched against the Argos in their February matchup. Turk leads the team with 42 strikeouts and a team second-best ERA of 3.43. Curry Follows with a 4.01 ERA and 31 strikeouts. Another option includes Alexandra Ballester, who has also pitched in seven games and owns a 1.58 ERA combined in her appearances.
Scouting Montevallo:
The Falcons have had mixed results as of late, dropping a series 1-2 against Valdosta State two weekends ago and losing both games in a midweek twin bill to Columbus State but following it up with a 3-0 sweep of Shorter. The Falcons had a Tuesday doubleheader with lee University cancelled and will now turn their attention to the Argos.
Sophomore Sydnee Reaves has put together an impressive season for the Falcons, leading them in almost every batting statistic. The Ashland, Ala. native leads with a .424 batting average, a GSC top-3 1.441 OPS, 43 runs, 53 hits, 11 doubles, six triples, 14 home runs and 56 RBI. Every one of these categories is top 10 in the GSC and her six triples lead the conference.
Bentley Stiner, Ariana Pinder, and Molly Pendley have all provided the second and third most hits, runs, and RBI on the team behind Reaves. Pendley has the second most home runs with eight.
In the pitcher's circle, Montevallo has three names with near even numbers of starts this season. Taylor Lloyd (12-10) has been the Falcons' most consistent starter on the mound, leading the team with a 3.65 ERA. Her 111 strikeouts is sixth-most in the conference. She has also pitched 120 innings, second-most in the GSC.
Mya Young (4-4) and Rachel Whiddon (1-5) have also taken starts and have 5.43 and 6.62 ERA's respectively. Pinder also has three starts on the mound and 3-0 in those starts.
