The game was close from the opening whistle, as both sides traded chances and kept each other honest. It wasn't until the 44th minute that the momentum was shifted. Nikolas Alzate Rodriguez shot a shot low into the left side of the net, giving the Argos a crucial 1‑0 lead just before half.
That goal proved final. In the second half, UWF kept up the offensive firepower with many opportunities on goal. The Argonauts spent much of the half in Auburn Montgomery territory. Though they couldn't find a second goal, the Argos controlled possession, forced the Warhawks into chasing, and kept the tempo high.
Defensively, UWF held strong when needed, absorbing counterattacks and shutting down late surges. The clean sheet and slim lead held firm until the final whistle.
With the 1–0 victory secured, UWF moves on. Their next match is October, 12 at Montevallo, with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.
