VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Argos had their second shutout of the weekend against Valdosta State, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Argos took control from the beginning of the match. The team took a total of 14 shots with 9 on goal, outshooting the Blazers.
Mya Swinton found the back of the net in the 23
rd minute to put the Argos on the board, and secure the game-winning goal. She was assisted by
Olof Thorvaldsdottir. Swinton and Thorvaldsdottir finished with three shots.
Thorvladsdottir was later able to score in the 54
th minute to put UWF up 2-0. This is Thorvaldsdottir's eighth goal of the season. She will be tied for the most goals in the Gulf South Conference after today's match.
The Argos travel back home this week. They will face Middle Georgia State on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
