PENSACOLA, Fla. – The UWF Women's Soccer team had a dominating 6-1 win over Christian Brothers (Tenn.) Sunday afternoon.
The Argos were able to find the back of the net in the 15
th minute. Junior
Rece Grant recorded that goal.
Marianna Camacho Montufar was able to put the Argos up 2-0, with the assist from Nicola Sawala, in the 27
th minute. Camacho Montufar recorded the game-winning goal as well.
Kristen Phillips drew a penalty kick for the team in the 28
th minute, and
Alexis Castle was able to find the back of the net off that penalty kick.
Going into the second half, the team was able to keep possession of the ball and score in the 51
st minute.
Olof Thorvaldsdottir recorded the goal and put the Argos up 4-0. Thorvaldsdottir was then able to assist
Hunter Wallace with a header in the 53
rd minute.
The sixth goal came from senior
Megan Gettys, who found the back of the net in the 55
th minute.
The Argos recorded 17 shots, with 13 being on goal.
"Definitely coming together," said Grant. "I feel like we really are one big family, and when everybody plays their part, it all comes together and we get six goals out of it."
The team travels to Montevallo, Ala., on Wednesday to play the Falcons at 5 p.m.
