PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 16 University of West Florida volleyball team continued its dominance in Gulf South Conference play on Friday night, defeating Christian Brothers 3–0 (25–21, 25–14, 25–22) at the UWF Field House. The Argonauts improved to 18–3 overall and 11–0 in the GSC, extending their win streak to double digits.
West Florida hit an efficient .303 as a team while holding the Buccaneers to a .129 mark. Four Argonauts finished with at least seven kills, showcasing a balanced attack led by
Emily Breazeale and
Kumara Flanagain, who each tallied 12 kills. Flanagain was particularly sharp, posting a .579 hitting percentage and adding a block assist, while Breazeale chipped in 11 digs for a strong two-way effort.
Gabi Moulton directed the offense with 38 assists, while adding seven kills and 14 digs for a near triple-double.
Aniston Cochran hit .438 with seven kills, and
Ana Colon contributed another seven kills on .278 hitting. Defensively,
Maddie Mire anchored the back row with a team-high 19 digs, and
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri and Moulton combined for five blocks at the net.
The Argos controlled the first two sets with efficient offense, hitting .319 and .471, respectively, before closing out the match with a gritty third-set victory. West Florida's strong serving and defense limited CBU's rhythm throughout, with the Argos totaling 61 digs and 10 team blocks.
