Men's Soccer Takes Down West Alabama for Tenth Win of Season

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida men's soccer team hit the double-digit win mark on Friday with a 2-1 victory at home against West Alabama.

UWF remains in second place in the Gulf South Conference standings with a 7-0-3 conference record and 10-1-4 overall record. The team will head into its final game of the regular season on Sunday with a home game against UAH.

Manu Bernabeu, who returned today after missing several games due to injury made an immediate impact and opened the scoring with his team-leading 10th goal of the season. The score came in the 38th minute off an Adrian Rodriguez assist. The Argos held the 1-0 lead through the remainder of the first half.

10 minutes into the second half the Argos made the score 2-0 when Jonas Grauer put the ball in the low right side of the net off a feed from Nikolas Rodriguez Alzate. It was Grauer's second goal of the season.

West Alabama got on the board in the 74th minute but UWF the visitors from tying the score in the 15 minutes in what was an evenly matched contest.

Both teams had their share of opportunities in the attack with UWF firing off 13 shots with seven on frame and UWA taking 11 shots with five on target.

Sunday will be senior day for the Argos in the final regular season game as the team hosts UAH at the UWF Soccer Complex at 3 p.m.
