HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The University of West Florida volleyball team came up short in a hard-fought four-set match against Alabama Huntsville on Friday evening at the SportsMED Arena inside Spragins Hall. The Argonauts fell 25-16, 23-25, 24-26, 27-29 in a clash between two of the Gulf South Conference's top teams.
 
West Florida (20-4, 13-1) started fast, hitting .486 in the opening frame to take a commanding 1-0 lead. The Argonauts dominated the first set behind a balanced attack and strong defensive play, but the Chargers (19-4, 11-3) rallied to take the next three sets, capitalizing on late runs in each of the final frames.
 
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri led the Argonauts offense with 16 kills and a .419 hitting percentage, while also contributing a team-high seven blocks. Ana Colon followed with 15 kills and five digs, while Aniston Cochran and Emily Breazeale each tallied eight kills. Gabi Moulton orchestrated the offense with 47 assists and added 16 digs, three blocks, and a .235 hitting clip.
 
Defensively, Maddie Mire posted a season-high 32 digs, helping UWF out-dig UAH 93-81. Brighton Ferguson added 13 digs and two service aces, while Vongkasemsiri and Moulton combined for nine of West Florida's 14 team blocks.
 
Despite out-hitting the Chargers .158 to .133 and leading in total kills (60–52), the Argonauts struggled to close sets two through four, falling in a series of back-and-forth battles that featured 42 ties and 22 lead changes.
