MONTEVALLO, ALA. – West Florida dropped a tough four-set match to Montevallo (25–20, 21–25, 25–14, 25–22) on Saturday afternoon inside Central State Bank Arena. The loss moves the Argonauts to 20–5 overall and 13–2 in Gulf South Conference play.
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri led the UWF offense with 12 kills on .455 hitting, adding five blocks and two digs.
Kumara Flanagain followed with 11 kills, five blocks, and two digs, while
Gabi Moulton tallied 36 assists, eight digs, and a pair of block assists.
Cate Wright added an efficient six kills on a .385 clip off the bench, and
Aniston Cochran chipped in four kills, one ace, and four digs.
Maddie Mire anchored the back row with 18 digs, and
Camryn Brooks contributed nine more along with two service aces.
After dropping the opening set 25–20, the Argos responded with a balanced effort in the second frame, hitting .250 to even the match. Montevallo regained control in the third, holding UWF to .079 hitting, before clinching the match in the fourth set despite a late UWF push.
As a team, the Argos hit .190 with 51 kills, 47 assists, and 62 digs, while Montevallo countered with a .268 attack percentage and 18 total blocks.
