PENSACOLA, FLA. – The No. 17 University of West Florida volleyball team continued its strong start to conference play, defeating Montevallo 3-1 (25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21) Friday evening at the UWF Field House. With the win, the Argonauts improved to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
 
West Florida's attack paved the way to victory, with four Argos tallying double-digit kills. Kumara Flanagain led the charge with 13 kills and added three blocks, while Ana Colon matched her with 13 kills on a .280 hitting percentage. Aniston Cochran was highly efficient, finishing with 11 kills and just one error for a .476 clip. Liberty McLean contributed five kills and four blocks.
 
Setting up the offense, Gabi Moulton directed the attack with 45 assists and chipped in 15 digs for a double-double. Defensively, Madalyn Mire posted a match-high 17 digs, and the Argos combined for 18 total blocks, including four apiece from Moulton and McLean.
 
West Florida controlled the first two sets with steady hitting and timely defense before Montevallo responded with a strong third set, hitting .240 as a team. West Florida regrouped in the fourth, using an 18-kill effort and late-set poise to close out the match.
