Volleyball Sweeps AUM on the Road

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 21 University of West Florida volleyball team knocked off AUM in commanding fashion (25-15, 25-14, 25-15) on Wednesday night at the AUM Athletics Complex. With the victory, the Argonauts improve to 21-5 overall and 14-2 in Gulf South Conference play.

West Florida's offense clicked early and often, hitting .230 as a team while limiting AUM to just .036 on the night. Junior outside hitter Emily Breazeale led the way with 11 kills, two aces, and 11 digs for a double-double. Magdalena Vongkasemsiri added nine kills at an impressive .444 clip, while Aniston Cochran chipped in six kills and three blocks.

Setter Gabi Moulton efficiently directed the offense with 26 assists, one service ace, and 11 digs to post a double-double of her own. Maddie Mire anchored the back row with a team-high 16 digs, and Kumara Flanagain posted three blocks to pace the UWF defense at the net.

The Argos never trailed in the opening two sets, using aggressive serving and balanced hitting to keep the Warhawks on their heels. West Florida hit .308 in the first set and closed the match with a steady 25-15 victory in the third frame.

West Florida will return home to take on Mississippi College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Live stats will be available on GoArgos.com.
