MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The No. 21 University of West Florida volleyball team knocked off AUM in commanding fashion (25-15, 25-14, 25-15) on Wednesday night at the AUM Athletics Complex. With the victory, the Argonauts improve to
21-5 overall and 14-2 in Gulf South Conference play.
West Florida's offense clicked early and often, hitting
.230 as a team while limiting AUM to just
.036 on the night. Junior outside hitter
Emily Breazeale led the way with
11 kills, two aces, and
11 digs for a double-double.
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri added
nine kills at an impressive
.444 clip, while
Aniston Cochran chipped in
six kills and
three blocks.
Setter
Gabi Moulton efficiently directed the offense with
26 assists, one service ace, and
11 digs to post a double-double of her own.
Maddie Mire anchored the back row with a team-high
16 digs, and
Kumara Flanagain posted three blocks to pace the UWF defense at the net.
The Argos never trailed in the opening two sets, using aggressive serving and balanced hitting to keep the Warhawks on their heels. West Florida hit
.308 in the first set and closed the match with a steady
25-15 victory in the third frame.
