HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Argos advance to the 2025 Gulf South Conference Championship game after beating West Alabama 2-0 Thursday afternoon.
The Argos were able to strike first.
Rece Grant was able to put the ball into the top right corner of the net in the tenth minute, to put the Argos up 1-0. This is Grant's third goal of the season.
The Argos held the Tigers off for the rest of the first half. They kept the Tigers to only three shots in the first half.
In the second half,
Mya Swinton kept the momentum going for the Argos. She was able to score in the 49
th minute, finding the back of the net. This is Swinton's fifth goal of the season.
UWF took 17 shots, 11 of which came in the second half. GSC Offensive Player of the Year,
Olof Thorvaldsdottir, and Grant led the Argos with four shots each.
The Argos will face the winner of the Montevallo and Mississippi College match on Saturday at noon.
