Argos Secure Senior Day Win

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos finish the 2025 regular season on a 12-game winning streak after beating the University of West Alabama 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.

UWF was able to strike first, scoring in the seventh minute. Mya Swinton assisted Olof Thorvaldsdottir in her 10th goal of the season. Thorvaldsdottir leads the Argos in goals (10), assists (6), and points (26).

The Argos kept possession of the ball for the majority of the first half and had several chances to score again. They finished the game with 16 shots and had 9 on frame.

Going into the second half, the Tigers had a few scoring opportunities, but the Argo defense was able to keep them from finding the back of the net.

In the 82nd minute, Mya Swinton drew a penalty in the box. Megan Gettys took the penalty kick and scored to the low right side of the net, bringing the Argos to a 2-0 lead.

A few seconds later, Sofia Hasler secured the third goal for the Argos and her first goal of the season.

Swinton led with five shots, and three on goal. Gettys and Thorvaldsdottir followed with three shots.

"For the UWF team, for this season, to be able to go undefeated this year during the regular season is amazing," Coach Joe Bartlinski said. "Full credit to the staff that we've had, the players from the last two to three years, just amazing what they've accomplished."

The Argos look to compete as the No. 1 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament. They will host the No. 8 seed next Saturday in the quarterfinal of the GSC Tournament.
