CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The University of West Florida men's basketball team picked up a win on the road with a hard-fought 65–61 comeback victory over Lee on Wednesday night at Walker Arena. The Argonauts erased a nine-point halftime deficit and outscored the Flames 37–24 in the second half to improve to 9–3 overall and 2–2 in Gulf South Conference play.
West Florida placed four players in double figures, with
Aric Demings leading the way with 17 points while shooting 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Elijah Wyche added 15 points and eight rebounds, while
Tim Hall Jr. recorded a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Anthony Igiede rounded out the double-digit scorers with 11 points, including two free throws in the final 12 seconds to help seal the win.
After trailing 37–28 at the break, the Argonauts used defensive pressure and efficiency at the free-throw line to swing momentum in the second half. West Florida shot 87.5 percent from the stripe on the night and dominated the glass with a 39–36 rebounding advantage. The Argos also scored 38 points in the paint and converted 17 points off Lee turnovers.
