Argos Defeat Trojans 82-78

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of West Florida men's basketball team held off a late rally to secure an 82–78 road victory over Trevecca Nazarene on Friday at Trojan Fieldhouse, improving to 10–3 overall and 3–2 in Gulf South Conference play.

The Argos led wire-to-wire, taking a 41–29 lead into halftime behind a strong offensive first half. West Florida matched that output in the second half with 41 points, fending off Trevecca's late-game surge to close out the contest and secure the victory.

Anthony Igiede led all scorers with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting, including three triples, while adding 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Aric Demings followed with 14 points and six boards, and Tim Hall Jr. chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks for his second double-double of the year. Ryan Payne added nine points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc.

The Argonauts shot 43.1 percent from the field and 38.9 percent from three-point range, while converting 25-of-31 attempts at the free-throw line. West Florida also controlled the glass with a 45–34 rebounding advantage and outscored Trevecca 36–15 in fast-break points.
