Argos Knock Off Saint Leo 95-66

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida men's basketball team cruised to a 95–66 win over Saint Leo on Tuesday night at the UWF Field House. The Argos used an explosive offensive performance and stifling defense to improve to 7–3 on the season.
 
UWF set the tone early, opening the game on a 13–4 run and never looking back. The Argonauts shot 54% from the field and 55% from three, piling up 50 first-half points to take a 19-point lead into the break. The Argos also excelled in transition, finishing with 19 fast-break points and 42 points in the paint.
 
Anthony Igiede led the offensive effort with 18 points on 7–9 shooting, adding four assists and four rebounds in just 19 minutes. Ryan Payne caught fire from deep, knocking down five of eight three-pointers to finish with 15 points. Elijah Wyche was dominant on both ends, posting 14 points and eight rebounds while going 7–11 from the floor.
 
UWF's bench contributed 34 points, highlighted by Colby McAllister's 13 points and Christian Monroe's eight. Ten different Argonauts scored, and five finished with at least eight points.
 
Defensively, the Argos held Saint Leo to 33% shooting and just 17% from three, while forcing 13 turnovers and controlling the boards with a 45–36 rebounding advantage.
