UWF Wins 13-2 Over CBU to Sweep Series

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos picked up right where they left off the other day. Scoring runs.

The UWF baseball team swept the series over Christian Brothers with a 13-2 win in seven innings on Sunday at Jim Spooner Field. The win moves the Argos to 7-6 on the season and 4-2 in the Gulf South Conference.

With Sunday's game in question due to rainy weather, the Argos made sure to jump out to a fast lead. The team scored six runs in the second inning, one in the third and fifth and five runs in the sixth inning.

Nine players had hits for West Florida in the 17-hit day. Cade Easterbrook, Jadon Fryman and Parker Tubb each had three runs batted in for the Argos.

Christian Brothers produced just three hits. Starting pitcher Grant Adams went six innings for UWF, throwing four strikeouts while allowing just two hits and no runs. Chase Scott and Blake Thomas came in relief.

UWF will host Delta State this upcoming weekend for a three-game series. The first game will be on Friday at 5 p.m. The Statesmen are 11-3 overall and 6-0 in the GSC.
