PENSACOLA, Fla. – Senior guard
Shay Davis scored a career high 31 points on Thursday night against Montevallo, but the UWF men's basketball team couldn't come away with the win, falling 86-81.
Davis scored over a third of the team's points in the game on 7-of-13 shooting from the field which included 4-of-7 from 3-point range. The senior also drilled 13-of-14 free throws.
The Argos fought back from a double-digit deficit in the second half using a 10-0 run to tie the game at 51-51. UWF kept the game within reach for the rest of the half but couldn't slow down the Montevallo offense.
Le'Tarion White did his best to help the Argo's offense keep pace with the Falcons in the second half. White scored 15 of his 19 points in the final 10 minutes of regulation.
UWF (7-20, 6-15 GSC) will play its final game of the season on Saturday at home against Auburn University at Montgomery. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
