NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The University of West Florida Argonauts (14-8, 10-6 Gulf South) came up just short against Trevecca Nazarene (8-15, 5-12 Gulf South), falling 54-47 at the Trojan Fieldhouse on Thursday night.
Despite a valiant effort, West Florida struggled offensively, shooting just 29.2% from the field and 8.7% from beyond the arc. Bella Green led the Argonauts with a dominant performance, notching a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. However, the Argos couldn't find consistent scoring elsewhere, with no other player reaching double figures.
Trevecca Nazarene's Tatum Shaw proved to be the difference-maker, pouring in a game-high 26 points on 11-of-22 shooting, including three three-pointers.
The Argos showed resilience, dominating the paint with 30 points and securing 15 offensive rebounds, but a cold shooting night and 13 turnovers ultimately cost them.
UWF will head to Cleveland, Tenn. to face Lee University on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. CST.
