PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF Softball (16-7, 9-3) dropped game three of their series against #12 Trevecca Nazarene (15-6, 6-6) by a score of 2-4 in extra innings Saturday morning. 
 
The Argos had the lead for several innings and were tied from the sixth until the ninth inning. UWF still secured the series 2-1 with the two doubleheader wins from yesterday. The Argos' win streak comes to an end at 10 games. 
 
The extra innings pitcher's duel ended in a loss for Haley Guffey (9-4) who pitched the full nine innings and threw 142 pitches. Despite having 10 hits, Guffey and the UWF defense limited the Trojans to four earned runs and left seven runners on base. 
 
Erin Moon went 2-3 and added another RBI and sacrifice hit to continue leading the team in both categories. 
 
Kyndal Cornelius hit her second triple of the season and added a run. Gianna Guerriero also went 2-4 with a run and an RBI. 
 
UWF 2, TNU 4
 
The Trojans jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second after a solo home run to left center. UWF took the lead in the third inning when Cornelius tripled and was scored shortly after by Guerriero's RBI single at the top of the order. Moon followed with an Rbi single to score Guerriero. 
 
The teams traded strikeouts, groundouts and flyouts for two innings, going three up and three down until the sixth. The Trojans scored another run on an RBI single but the Argos managed to cut the damage there and strand a runner on base. 
 
The game remained tied through regulation, and the Trojans went down fast in the top of the eighth. In the bottom of the inning, Guerriero doubled and got to third on an error, but the Argos went couldn't bring her across. The Trojans doubled through the left side in the ninth to score two after multiple singles. UWF failed to respond after having the tying run at the plate. TNU took game three 4-2 in nine innings.
