The result called off potential losses on court two by No. 10 Rondon and court six by Leston, as well as a deadlocked 6-6 second set between Ekenros and Taiyo Hirano.
The Argos, ranked No. 1 in the nation but No. 2 in the GSC thanks to its head-to-head loss to 17-0 Valdosta State, heads to Montgomery, Ala., for the GSC Championship Quarterfinals on Thursday, April 24. They play at 2:30 pm at O'Connor Tennis Center against No. 7-seed West Alabama, who the Argos swept last month on its home courts. UWF has never lost to UWA in 26 all-time meetings, including six times in the conference tournament, but never this early in the event, as they have always met in the semifinals or championship match until this season.
