GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Consistency has been the name of the game for
Millie Thompson during the NCAA South Regional. The junior followed up her first round 71 (-1) with yet another 71 in the second round to tie her for first place overall.
As a team the Argos fell back one position from yesterday and are now in eighth place. UWF shot 300 (+12) on Tuesday and is one shot behind Wingate who is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II. The Argos are seven shots back from the top three in the tournament.
Thompson who finished with a birdie on No. 18 yesterday picked up right where she left off with a birdie to start today. She was two-under after the front nine and one over on the back nine. Thompson will look to win her first-ever South Region individual title on Wednesday.
Alia Scotka and
Isabela Urruchua were both four over,
Samantha Schultz was five over and
Holland Davidson was seven over in the second round.
The Argos will tee off in the final round beginning at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday at Chattahoochee Golf Club.
