GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The UWF women's golf team closed out the 2024-2025 season tying for eighth place at the NCAA Division II South Regional. The Argos had their best round of the tournament on Wednesday with a 297 (+9) to close things out.
Midway through the round West Florida jumped up to as high as sixth place, but bogeys on holes No. 10 and 12 slowed the comeback attempt.
Alia Scotka, in her final round as an Argo led the team with an even 72 par to close out a fantastic career with UWF. Scotka had back-to-back birdies on No. 6 and 7 and was two under through nine.
Holland Davidson led the Argos with three birdies on the day leading to a one over 73. The sophomore finished +11 for the three-round tournament.
Millie Thompson who was tied for first place heading into the third round shot 75 (+3) and finished tied for fifth place overall individually. Thompson was one over for the entire tournament.
Isabela Urruchua and
Samantha Schultz shot five over, 77's in the final round.
UWF beat out five teams ranked higher nationally in the tournament.
Flagler was the overall winner at +7 followed by Nova Southeaster (+14) and Anderson (+24) to round out the top three.
