Ricky Crews is the September Donor of the Month! We appreciate the support and Argonaut athletics loyalty. Read the reasons for his generous contributions to UWF Athletics.
- Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
I really enjoy supporting UWF Athletics because it gives me a sense of participation. I am a 1982 alumni of UWF and we didn't have a very big athletic department when I was a student and I remember that. Athletics is a very important part of the University and will allow the University to grow in the future, and not just in athletics. Having top notch athletic programs gives current students a sense of pride and builds a legacy that makes UWF a desirable atmosphere for future students to attend.
- Why do you continue to give annually?
So that UWF continues to have the necessary resources to meet the needs of its student athletes today and tomorrow.
- What would you say is the best thing about being a donor to UWF Athletics?
The sense of pride I get when I mention our competitive successes to friends and colleagues. Our athletes have won several national and conference championships over the years and I am very proud of the University and it's athletes. By giving a little I feel I am helping sustain these programs for the long haul and that is good for the University and our community too!
- What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
Again, the sense of pride of our athletic programs.
- Anything else you'd like to add? For instance, a proud moment as an Argo fan or an experience you really enjoyed.
I recently participated in the UWF Golf teams fundraiser tournament. It was a unique experience because I got to meet several of the student athletes and some of the AD staff as well. I am grateful for that opportunity and look forward to participating in many more UWF Athletic events.
