PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's soccer team finished the week in a 2-2 draw against Embry-Riddle on Sunday afternoon at the UWF Soccer Complex.
After the Eagles found the back of the net twice in the first half,
Jillian Thompson answered with a goal in the 39th minute, with an assist from
Olof Thorvaldsdottir.
In the 71
st minute, Thorvaldsdottir was able to tie the game with an assist from
Mya Swinton.
Megan Gettys led the Argos with seven shots and two shots on goal.
"Nothing but great learning opportunities for our team," head coach
Joe Bartlinski said. "We have the quality, and that's what I'm excited about. It just takes time."
The Argos defense was able to keep the Eagles to just two goals and five shots. Midfielder
Rece Grant played a big part in this defensive effort.
UWF (1-0-1) will play Lynn on Thursday at 5 p.m. Lynn will arrive in Pensacola 1-0-1.
