PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance on Sunday afternoon, sweeping both doubles and singles play to earn a 7-0 victory over Xavier.

The Argonauts secured the doubles point with wins across all three courts. Carlota Verdu and Sandra Recuenco Tarin opened the match with a 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles, followed by Aline Midori and Guadalupe Martinez posting a 6-4 win on court two. UWF completed the sweep as Laila Kamil and Sophie Smith cruised to a 6-0 decision at No. 3 doubles.

West Florida carried the momentum into singles play, claiming all six matches to seal the shutout. Verdu picked up a hard-fought win at No. 1 singles, defeating Maja Brnic 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, while Midori followed with a pair of tiebreak wins to take court two 7-6, 7-6. Martinez added a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 3, and Recuenco Tarin dominated at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-0 win.

The bottom half of the lineup remained just as strong, as Alberte Joergensen earned a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles, and Kylie Kochis closed the match with a 6-0, 6-1 win on court six.

The Argos will be back in action on Friday, February 13, in Indianapolis, Indiana in the ITA Women's National Team Indoors Championship. Opponents are TBA.
