West Florida Advances to Semifinals of ITA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of West Florida men's tennis team advanced to the semifinal round of the 2026 ITA National Men's Team Indoor Team Championship with a 4-1 victory over six-seed UT Tyler on Thursday morning at Farmer's Bank Fieldhouse.

The Argonauts set the tone early by claiming the doubles point. At No. 1 doubles, Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon delivered a strong 6-1 win over Malo Poulesquen and Carel Wessel. Rafael Sabio and Mark Neyelov followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles to secure the point for UWF, while the No. 3 match went unfinished as the match was played to decision.

In singles, West Florida captured three of the four completed matches to clinch the dual. Rondon earned a hard-fought three-set victory at No. 1 singles, rallying past Poulesquen, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5. Duran continued his strong day with a straight sets win at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 7-6, over Artiom Dorofeev.

Neyelov provided the decisive point at No. 3 singles, grinding out a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory against Wessel. UT Tyler picked up its lone point at No. 4 singles, where Samuel Antwi defeated Sabio in three sets. Matches at No. 5 and No. 6 singles were left unfinished after the Argonauts secured the team victory

The Argos will face off against either Flagler or Azusa Pacific on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Central Time. The winner will advance to the finals dual on Sunday. Live stats will be available on GoArgos.com.
