PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF Athletics has completed a series of facility upgrades at both Jim Spooner Field and the UWF Softball complex, enhancing the student-athlete experience while improving game-day operations, technology, and fan engagement.
"These upgrades represent our continued commitment to providing first-class facilities for our student-athletes while enhancing the overall game-day experience," said UWF Deputy Athletics Director
Tony Nguyen. "From improved lighting and sound to advanced video analytics, these enhancements position our programs well for continued success."
Both facilities received new LED lighting systems as well as new sound systems, modernizing each venue and creating a more dynamic atmosphere for games and events. AWRE AIR, a multi-camera HD video system, has been installed to automatically record games, practices, and other on-field activities, as well as provide official replay review.
At Jim Spooner Field, specific upgrades include the addition of electrical outlets in both dugouts, additional lighting, and new foul-territory fencing and branding. The improvements further modernize the facility while enhancing functionality for student-athletes and coaching staffs during games and practices.
The UWF Softball Complex also received electrical outlets in both dugouts, additional lighting, and additional dugout netting to improve safety and in-game operations. Installation of the AWRE AIR system will also provide the team with video at games and practices, while providing official replay review services. Branded turf was installed around the dugouts and infield.
The facility improvements reflect UWF Athletics' ongoing investment in infrastructure, technology, and the student-athlete experience across all sports.
