PENSACOLA, Fla. – Senior wing
Elijah Wyche reached a career milestone on Thursday night, scoring his 1,000
th career point against Union. Despite the effort, the University of West Florida men's basketball team dropped the contest against to the Bulldogs, 85-69. The Argos now sit at 20-7 on the season and 13-6 in conference play.
Union used a dominant first half to take control early, outscoring the Argonauts 40-24 in the opening 20 minutes. West Florida responded strongly in the second half, matching Union with 45 points, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Colby McAllister provided a huge spark off the bench, leading Argonaut scorers with 16 points and drilling four three-pointers.
Aric Demings added 13 points, while Wyche and
Tim Hall Jr. each finished with 10 points and seven rebounds apiece, as the Argos tallied 28 total boards on the night.
West Florida will return home for one final time this regular season on Saturday where they are set to face Christian Brothers. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Live stats and broadcast will be available on GoArgos.com.
